Miranda Lambert brought the house down at the Greek Theatre last night in Los Angeles where she stopped on her 2016 Keeper of the Flame Tour. Playing to a packed audience of adoring fans, the nearly two hour set took everyone on a journey through her musical life. Lambert kicked off the night with “Fastest Girl in Town,” “Baggage Claim,” and her first chart topper “Kerosene.” Even with ballads like “Bathroom Sink” and “Over You,” there was never a moment you didn’t feel like getting up to dance. Lambert also played her most recent single “Vice,” that has already climbed the country digital charts and holds the #1 spot.
Lambert could be dubbed the rock queen of country. With her strong guitar riffs and nitty gritty lyrics, she sings tough about bad breakups. Her “girl power” attitude is apparent as she pays homage to the strong ladies of country in the opening montage — pictures flashed of country superstars Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton and more as a remix of Beyoncé’s “Who Run the World” played. There is no doubt Lambert is a powerhouse and appreciates her fans, thanking them for spending the money to come see her. She even placed a sunflower on her mic stand that a fan handed to her.
Opening the night was The Brothers Osborne and country’s newest heart throb Kip Moore. All joined Lambert at the close of the show to sing Janis Joplin’s “Me and Bobby McGee.”
